RobecoSAM Industry Mover 2015

H&M qualified for inclusion in RobecoSAM's 2015 Sustainability Yearbook and received the Industry Mover award. The yearbook includes the top 15% companies per industry and the Industry Mover distinction is awarded to the company that achieved the largest proportional improvement in its sustainability performance compared to the previous year. Every year since 2004, The Sustainability Yearbook has listed the world’s most sustainable companies in each industry as determined by their score in RobecoSAM’s annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA).

Dow Jones Sustainability Index

In 2015 H&M was included to the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index for the first time and the World Index for the fourth consecutive year. The index lists the most sustainable companies per sector based on an extensive annual assessment conducted by the independent asset managers at RobecoSAM.

2016 World’s Most Ethical Companies

H&M is a six time honouree as a World's Most Ethical Company®. The World’s Most Ethical Companies designation recognises those companies that have had a material impact on the way business is conducted by fostering a culture of ethics and transparency at every level of the company.

Global Compact 100 stock index

H&M is included in the Global Compact 100 stock index, developed by Sustainalytics. It is composed of a representative group of Global Compact companies, selected based on implementation of the ten principles and evidence of executive leadership commitment and consistent base-line profitability. The index suggests that companies exhibiting enhanced environmental, social and governance (ESG) have the potential to perform better in financial markets over time.

FTSE4Good Index

H&M has been independently assessed according to the FTSE4Good criteria and has satisfied requirements to become a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series. Created by the global index company FTSE Group, FTSE4Good is an equity index series that is designed to facilitate investment in companies that meet globally recognised corporate responsibility standards. Companies in the FTSE4Good Index Series have met stringent social and environmental criteria and are positioned to capitalize on the benefits of responsible business practices.

PETA Libby Awards

In 2015, H&M won the PETA Libby Awards. PETA’s youth division annually nominates the best brands, celebrities and companies that are making positive contributions when it comes to making the world a greener, healthier and kinder place for humans and animals. H&M won the Libby Award for Best Animal-Friendly Clothing Company when the public was asked to vote for their favorite animal-friendly company.

Green Power Leadership Awards

H&M is again awarded the Green Power Leadership Awards, sponsored by the United Stated Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In collaboration with Center for Resource Solutions (CRS), EPA annually recognizes the leading actions of organizations, suppliers, and individuals that significantly advance the development of green power sources with the Green Power Leadership Awards.

Global 100 index

H&M is listed in the Global 100 index of the most sustainable corporations in the world since 2008. In the 2016 index, we were ranked place 20 and as the no. 1 company in our sector.This annual project is initiated by Corporate Knights with the aim was to highlight the global corporations which have been most proactive in managing environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. Launched in 2005, the annual Global 100 is announced each year during the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Newsweek Green Ranking

H&M is listed in the Newsweek Green Ranking among the 500 most sustainable companies in the world (2016: rank 63). The ranking is annually produced by the magazine Newsweek in collaboration with leading environmental research organisations.
